Default Syracuse Arms....

....Hollenbeck, Grade 1. This will be a new project for me. Apparently, the Grade 1 disappeared before 1896. I have a series of articles in my DGJs about the Syracuse Arms Co. that may shed some light. Cheers!

Mark,

That looks like a nice, very early gun. What are you going to have done to it?

I have been reading about disassembly procedures and found out some interesting facts about false plates and compressed mainsprings. With that in mind, I will carefully disassemble, clean, inspect and reassemble the gun. There is a Red Head pad on it that appears to be in good condition and well fitted. I am guessing that an inch or so was removed to accomodate the pad. The base of the pad can probably be repaired with some Acraglas. The forend has a couple of slivers missing, one on each side. The missing slivers and the pad are the only detractors. The bores are nice and lots of pattern remains on the exterior. A good cleaning and lubrication are in order.
