That Lefever-like profiling seems to be a time period thing, usually starting on Quality No. 3s, with serial numbers below 20000.

Hello Ken,
Thanks for showing your Ithaca, I have encountered 2 Ithaca’s with the sculpted breech balls and fences like yours, a grade 3 12 Gauge and a grade 4 10 Gauge. The grade 4 10 has some really unique engraving on the floor plate, different than i’ve Ever seen on an Ithaca. Ithaca produced some beautifully engraved guns during the Crass era in my opinion, Stan |

I can still remember where I picked this gun up it was at a yard sale that the the lake Tahoe fire department on the border of california and nevada was putting on for funds those were the good days.

Very cool gun, I've never seen one. I'm big on the Flues, own 6 of them. These old Ithacas are very underated. They are works of art!
