Default Fox Field Gun Challenge at Rock Mountain's SxS Challenge!!

Wrapped things up speaking with Daryl today and the Fox Field Gun Challenge is back on!! It can be shot Thursday, Friday all day and Saturday until noon. To qualify your gun must weigh 6 lb 13 oz or less and can be from any manufacturer. A heavier gun can shoot but will not qualify for the $$. The event will payout 50-30-20, all ties split to satisfy 3 places. This payout will be done for every 10 shooters so there will be multiple payouts over the weekend. Cost will be $35 with $10 going into the payout pot. Total targets is 25 shot on the 5-Stand. Enter as many times as you like. Daryl will post the event here and on the Fox site.

As Michael Buffer would say, "Leeeeeeet's get ready to rumbllllllllle!!"

Default The 2024 Fox field gun challenge

As Mike posted earlier here are the particulars for the challenge:

The Fox Field Gun Challenge is back on!! As the title suggests we will moving this event to Evil Mike's shoot in July. This is a field gun event so of course it will be shot low gun. Gun weights will be verified in the clubhouse. Stay tuned for any updates or changes to the event as I, Mike or Pres. Trump will do it just because we can. Have fun!!

Owning a Fox is not a spectator sport.

Hello Daryl, -- Why the 6lb.13oz. weight limit ? I agree that owning a Fox is not
a spectator sport, it is owning ''The Finest Gun in the World'' and I am with
President Trump ''ALL THE WAY''

Harry
6lb, 13oz. because that's more or less the sweet spot for a field gun meant to be carried more than shot. I'll have a few guns that qualify for those that would like to play but only have 2 frame 10 gauges or 15lb 8 gauges
I prefer them closer to 6lb or a little less.

Good move Daryl and Mike.

I'd rather see a modified (and more interesting) Make a Break setup on the 5 stand rather than a specific menu at each of the five stations and with multiple clay trajectories to remember at each and every station? How about the thrower's choice of two easier targets for the first shot and shooter's choice of increasing difficulty targets and score points for the second bird? 10 report pairs/shooter for score.

Hmmmm. My records indicate that within the vault lies a VHE 16 with 32" F/F tubes weighing in at a sultry 6-12 oz. I will double check that prior to interrogation and possible confiscation by the anticipated Weigh In Gestapo

Great idea Frank. Sort of like the grouse walk to simulate a field experience. Between Evil Mike and I, we will come up with something other than standard 5 stand.

No MIB style, basic 5-Stand. Not enough double-gunners are up to speed on a MIB but they know 5-Stand and like shooting it. Daryl and I discussed this and we are in agreement the the 5-Stand will work best.
