Default A Baker’s Dozen of Twenty-Eights

Edgar’s post “A Trio of Twenty-Eights” got me to thinking and remembering that I had never posted pictures that I took last October while hunting in “The County” in Maine with the “Old Pats Society” for 4 or 5 days hunting grouse and woodcock with our Parker 28's.
What fun we had and one of most memorable was “Show & Tell Night” when we all brought out our 28’s.

The CHE that had such minimal stock dimensions (supported in the research letter) required the grip cap be contoured to allow the ordered stock dimensions to be followed.

Wow!! From those pictures you'd think straight grips were common on hammerless Parker Bros./Parker guns!!

I guess more so on the smaller gauges like .410's and 28's than on larger bore Parkers.

Terrific photo. I could just sit there and admire the history that goes with each one. And by the looks I could find one in that batch that would fit me just fine!

Nice! A beavertail on a 28 with a straight stock is my delight!

The “Super Guppy” of Parkers Edgar?

I actually prefer the feel of a beavertail on a .410 and 28 but I’ll give you that a splinter is more aesthetically appealing.

Default Super Guppy

Edgar,

May I ask where you acquired that photo, I actually observed this aircraft earlier this week and have a video of Super Guppy departing runway 18 at Oshkosh while we waited on the flight line to depart on Thursday morning?

I’m fairly confident in saying that your photo was taken at Oshkosh?
