Default Nashville Gun Opportunities

My wife and I had to cancel our Christmas trip to Italy.
We've rebooked and are now heading to Nashville.
Are there some "must visit" gun stores in or near Nashville?

This little beauty came out of Nashville some 88 years ago but I'm pretty
sure Craig & Shoffner Hardware Co. is long gone.

Since John Allen closed up his shop several years ago I think the pickings are slim. You might PM John and get his input. I used to make the trek from East TN to Nashville from time to time to visit John's place. Always enjoyed it.

There are a couple of huge gun shops around Franklin just south. I believe the one I bought from a several years ago was Franklin GunShop. Visible from I-65. Not an impressive store, but they had quite a few collectible rifles. Wasn't looking for shotguns then so don't remember. 10 or 12 years ago while daughter was in Vanderbilt Grad school, so maybe has changed, but is still there I think.

Default Franklin Gun Shop

Franklin Gun Shop is no more, black gun shop at that location now. John still has some guns, pm him. Sadly vintage gun shops are gone now in our area.

The Nashville Gun Club is a great shooting venue, was just there over the summer.

There is a newer shop, Double Guns of Nashville. Not sure what they have, but I believe new stock mostly. I've gotten ads from them, but have not investigated.

Default Nashville

Sadly Double Guns is out of business also. You would enjoy Nashville Gun Club a Destry says. If you pm me and let me know when you will be in town I may be able to provide some more opportunities.

I have shot there several times and really enjoyed it due to the amount of land they owned and how open and uncrowded the Sporting Clays layout seemed. We owned a condo just on the south side of Belle Meade while my daughter was there, and I seem to remember that the club was in some form the descendant of an old Belle Meade Gun Club. Lot of history in that area due to the residents. Hit hard by the 1000 (yes) flood they had several years ago.

I also remembered that a lot of the Nashville shooters at one time made the short trip north to Gamiliel Ky to shop at the Gameliel Gun Shop. It is just east of Glasgow on I-65. Nothing fancy at all but in a small farm crossroads that had a barbecue pit that cooked all week and sold for one day a week. Concrete block building that had customers lined up outside to the corner all day. The gun store was a real mover and shaker in the trapshooting community and drew a lot of business from Nashville. I haven't been there for years but bought a lot of high end used shotguns there over several years.
