Default 10 gauge ammo request

I recently purchased a 10 gauge Parker and would like to participate in SxS competitions. Obvious issue is shell availability. Does anyone have knowledge on access for 2 3/4 length, #7.5 or #8 loads that are available for sale? Thank you for consideration. Alan Speir

Your best bet would be to watch the RST website for availability and act quickly.

Are you sure you need 2 3/4" shells most Parkers in 10ga were chambered for 2 7/8". RST doesn't list 10ga shells on their web site and Morris Baker had no idea about availability at the Vintage Cup. I think the only alternative is to reload.

When we were at Rock Mountain end of July he told me 10 gauge components were not even on the horizon for him to get back in production .

Alan, the problem you will most likely run into if you can find 2 3/4" 10g shells is they are probably loaded for heavy game loads. Those are tough on our 100+ year old stocks.

Currently all the components you'd need to reload for the 10 gauge 2 7/8" are in stock.

Make your life easier and get some 10- to 12-gauge Gauge-Mates and use 12-gauge shells.

I beg to differ . Checked both BPI and Precision neither had Remington or the Gualandi style wads . Plenty stuff for steel which I’m not using or you could do it with all fiber wads , don’t plan on going that route either .
