That last line about the "Fore end will be made to suit customers' requirements..." is interesting!!

I thought the exact same thing. My SB has a larger than typical fore end and I’ve always been curious about it, although I’m certain it’s original to the gun.

And maybe that's why we've never seen one with the grooves on the sides... nobody liked them and opted for checkering instead. Notice the stamp is from 1917 when the Parker SBT was first introduced.
