Default SxS Shoot Binghamton Gun Club Sat July 8

NEXT SATURDAY July 8, 2023 the Binghamton Gun Club at the end of Quilty Hill Road will be having an informal Side by Side shoot put on by the Vintage Gunners Northern Appalachin Mountain Chapter. Please note: over under and pump and/or semi autos will also be allowed to shoot but will not be eligible for prizes. These do NOT have to be vintage guns. This will be a relaxing one day event if you're in the area or can hop down. $75 includes 100 sporting clays plus chicken BBQ. Also, at usual rates, folks can shoot 5 stand, skeet and bunker (International) trap. The Bunker Trap will humble most folks but with a SBT it's a hoot and fast as hell. The event starts at 10am. I know it's short notice but there were extraneous forces that prevented me from posting it until it was a certainty. There are a few golf carts, but you may drive your vehicle up the hill to park then walk the course which is not strenuous but very scenic and serene.

Quilty Hill Rd, Kirkwood, NY, United States, 13795

If anyone has questions please PM me.

I wouldn’t mind attending that for no other reason than to have dinner at Cacciatore's that evening . But that’s a long hike for a one day shoot ! Have fun for those that attend and above all else BE SAFE !

Update: the bunker trap may be down. Water gremlins worked their way in Sunday and an electrician is supposed to try to find the problem in the 2,000 miles of buried wire. Not good.

(try to find the problem in the 2,000 miles of buried wire)

You sure about that my friend??

I'm not real familiar with Bunker Trap setup, but I'm thinking 2,000 feet may be more realistic than 2,000 miles.

Doesn't sound like fun chasing that problem either way

Stan, like discussing a fish you once caught, 2,000 miles sounds more incredible than 2,000 feet : ) There's a lot. There are 15 traps launching birds 70-75mph all computer controlled and it's been exposed to the elements since it was put in for the 1984 olympic shooter here to train. It's one of my favorite things to shoot; even though you're allowed two shots I do best with my Ithaca 4E

Bunker is by far the hardest game I've ever tried to shoot

We get a lot of enjoyment from hearing people say “trap is too easy” then shoot 11-12-7-14 and use good four letter words. The game eventually bites you. The bunker is fixed
So it’s up And running. . With a SxS it’s challenging to say the least.
