Default TPS/Serialization

I see frequent references on this forum to both the "TPS" and the Parker Serialization "book".

Are these one in the same or two different references?

TPS = The Parker Serialization??

And... please indicate how and where to access these books or references either within this site or on the web.

Thanks....

Jeffrey Smith

Both reference books are available if you Google the title.

The Parker Gun Identification and Serialization book was written based primarily on the Parker stock books when they were copied by the authors who were writing The Parker Story. The info contained in the book comes from the stock books plus some D grade guns and higher that were missing from the missing stock books but found in the order books. The price is around $35.

The Parker Story is a beautiful 2 volume set and considered the Bible of Parker knowledge. The authors were Mullins, Price, Gunther, Parker, and Cote. It is available from the Double Gun Journal and blemished sets are around $300.

Both books are a must for a serious Parker collector.

Chuck tells all we need to know about the "Books". Additional information about your gun is available on the "Research Letters" link on the home page. Pay close attention to the instructions.

TPS blemished sets are priced at $205 in the Double Gun Journal, it's the unblemished sets that are priced around $300 (actually $295).

One more reason to subscribe to the Double Gun and Single Shot Journal-the most beautiful example of printing in a periodical in publication today. Most every issue is a jaw-dropper.
