Here are two pics of the perpetual Trophies for the Fox Collectors’ Bo-Whoop Long Range Championship, and our new William C Letterman Cup event for vintage SBT shotguns. Shooting starts one week from today at the Northeast Side by Side.

Frank,
Do you have to shoot a Fox in the SBT event? |

Larry, you can shoot any vintage SBT gun in the W C Letterman Cup event (see first post). The intent is to compete with pre-1960's break open type Trap guns. Anything newer than 1960 will have to be approved in advance by a Fox Collector rep. For example, a 1970's Ithaca SBT would be OK but a modern Perazzi, Ljutic, etc would not. Also, Hausmann restricts guns to break-open type and thus something like a vintage 1897 Winchester Trap gun would not qualify even though it has one barrel.

Frank, Danny and I were talking about this event last evening. He told me "Put the trap gun in the car" So I think he is gonna shoot this event. I will have a ball cheering him on.

The dates for both events are Friday May 31 and Saturday June 1. 9am to 5pm both days. There will be no Fox Collector sponsored shooting on Sunday June 2 due to the Northeast SxS Main Event being held on Sunday.
The Bo-Whoop Long Range menu will be five SIMULTANEOUS pairs of targets (also known as “true pairs”) = 10 targets. The William C Letterman Cup menu will be five pairs of singles “on call” = 10 targets. Competitors may enter more than once. Practice shooting for either event is $10.00 per 10 target menu. "For Score" shooting/either event is $20.00 per 10 target menu. Practice scores are not eligible for the trophy recognition nor the purses. A full copy of the rules will be prominently posted at the shooting station, and a Fox Collector representative will be available there to answer any questions. The shooting station and observation area will have a tent as a contingency for rain and sun. |

Frank, this SBT event doesn't sound like any standard trapshooting event such as 16 yard singles. Are you shooting from a distance such as the 27 yard line or is it entirely something different than American trap?

Chuck, you are correct it's not a regular American Trap setup. I don't know what the targets will look like until Ernie, staff and I set them on next Thursday. Basically we'll be shooting the same targets as the Bo-Whoop simo pair presentation - except that the SBT shooters will do them as singles on call. We will PROBABLY shoot the W C Letterman Cup targets from a nearby but different shooting butt, time will tell.
