My CH was ordered without forend checkering Yours looks sanded as the latch looks proud of the wood just a guess a letter may answer your question and you dont have a PHE a PhE is a hammerless gun with ejectors

Okay so if it's a P grade with hammers and extractors how is it described?

It is described as a Grade-1 top action hammer gun. You can replace the 1 with a P and basically have the same description.

There were guns without checkering on both the forend and stock. I believe most of these were "0" grade lifters. Though there may have been top actions too. And customers requests as previously stated.
That sounds like an interesting CH, I like that you have it in the letter! Very cool... |
