Does anyone know a source of wad stock sold in sheets to use for cutting wads?

I use the card board boxes like crackers come in or washing powders box or ceral box...this type of paper makes good wads....I even use them in my 8 ga loads...charlie

My other favorite is Durofelt and I will use 2 - 1/4" wads and dip them in SPG or another type of lube for brass shotshells. For muzzleloading shotguns I only use 1 - 1/4" wad, but lube that as well - http://www.durofelt.com/image_26.html

I really like the durofelt product. I chuck a punch into my drill press, put it on the lowest speed, and put pc of 2x12 fir on the table and cut/punch them out very quickly. I use them as a filler in my .45-90 loads. You can use the same method to make vegetable card wads for shotshells if you can find a punch with a round stem. I make them for my .45-90 also and put one under the bullet to protect the base of the cast bullet during ignition. Makes the gun shoot very consistently, at least out to the 200 yds I've tested it at. I think I got my card stock from Buffalo Arms. I've also seen on some forums that some punch them out of cardboard egg cartons.

I don’t have access to wad punches any longer and I don’t wanna invest in a set . But when I did the whole thing about using them was to use scrap that cost me nothing so I pressed stuff into use that maybe wasn’t normaly considered for the purpose it was used .

In Tom's book he talks about using real felt to punch out wads because it expands sealing gas better than other materials used for modern fiber wads. Felt is easy to find at least locally its used to make deer blinds alot.

I use NAPA gasket material, it's a combination of cork and rubber and comes in different thicknesses.

I buy sheets of cork from Michael's, different thicknesses. Works fine for me. Doesn't take long mot much out all you need.
