Thanks Billy, that's a lot less powder than I figured, I thought it would be less than the HS hull but not that much less. Any idea what the velocity is on your load? Does it perform well for you.
I can always stay with the Universal and save the 20/28 for 20 ga loads.

A #13 bushing may do it according to the bushing charts, but I have yet to get the same powder drop as the Mec chart--some drop more some less . I have 4 #21 bushings if you need one. I was planning on picking up a 13,15, 17 and 18 to cover other hulls and powder.
Just about have this covid kicked, took a walk at a public hunting area with 3 setters and a Sterlingworth 16 for 3 hours today and felt fine. Unfortunately, found no pheasants, most have been taken or been dinner for the hawks, owls, and coyotes by now

Sorry Harold - I don't have any of those. The MEC chart says a #12A should get you 10.8 Gr. I would start with that. You can file it out a little to adjust. Billy

I have been using the Winchester AA28 wads with 13.0 of 20/28 in the old CF shells and a CB5034HS with the new AA cases. I modified a #14 bushing to get it to throw 13 grains. It is the load I have used for quite a while and it seems to work well in my Reproduction 28.

Thanks Carl. I was referred to an old thread on the 28 ga forum with lots of discussion
Apparently, Alliant used to tell people 13 gr AA was ok in that load with the CF hulls and old AA wad, but now will not make any recomendation--I talked to them and that is the case. Several people chronoed that load at 1200 fps. I may drop it down a half grain and a full grain and see how they shoot. I will be shooting it in a modern gun (Dickinson). Ran into a pound of HS-6 this weekend and will be using that also.
