Default last chance

took the old 8 ga parker out this evening giving it its last chance to score on a deer this evening...at about 30 minutes before dark a buck stuck just his head out of a briar patch it was a shooter but the range was about 60 yards...just to far and only a big ear to shoot at...he nevercame out to present a shot...so i guess the old round ball load will have to wait till next season.... this was our last day of deer season kinda glad..... charlie

Well Charlie, like they say, "There's always next year."

You've taken us with you on every one of your hunts and adventures and we thank you for that.

Now you can use the "off season" to practice up on reaching out a bit farther with your BIG 8. Maybe send it off to Briley's for some slug chokes.

saw a large buck this week here in Upstate NY, still had the same tall wide rack he had when I first saw him him back in October.

but - an 8 bore ball on a deer

maybe you should bark him like they used to do with squirrels and muzzleloaders.

I just got back early this AM from a 10 day piggie trip in Arkansas .
Didn't see any piggies to shoot but saw a hell of a 10 pointer at about 90 yards !

Lets see the exact day for that one woulda been January 31st !

This buck was pushing 20"-22" . I watched him for about 5 minutes . All out in the open and me sitting in a deer house with my W&C Scott 10 gauge as well as a Ruger #1B in 7 MAG . Problem was , it wasn't gun season for deer in Arkansas !
