Default the snake

well i was fixing to get ready to relax a while when the phone rang..it was my grand daughter calling me to tell me to hurry up and come over and to grab my gun there was a big snake in the dog pin...she had turn her dogs loose for some exercise and when she started putting them up she discovered the snake..she called her mother to tell her she had found a snake and was going to shoot it..but her mom did not want her to shoot it...little concern on her mothers part...she told katie to call me so i wentand grab the first gun i came to it happened to be a ithaca 12 ga double hammerless i got from russ jackson then off on the hunt...i straightened a few curves out in the ford focus and i was there in a flash....i got the old ithaca out loaded it up and then presumed to the hunt...KATIEsays the snake has gotton out of view..we then preceded to search for the snake i asked her how big is this snake and what kind it was she says its big and she did not no what kind it was...we warely searched thru the short grass leaving no spot unturned finally a movement in the grass to KATIE S right she put her light on it sure enough it was the snake and yes it was big..the snake stopped and turned it s head to the light i told KATIE to hold the light on its head after a pull on the trigger it was over with...no it was not a rattlesake but it was a big chicken snake...the big ithaca had done her job....the big snake was over five foot long...so far the big ithaca has gotten two turkeys and a chicken snake i wonder whats next....charlie

Your are off to a roaring start in 2015. Lets hope it carry's over into deer season. Did I read somewhere that chicken snakes were the state reptile in Mississippi?

yes sir ree i got me the state chicken snake...ha.... ain t no telling how manyturkey and bird eggs this old fellow had swallowed in his carreer.... charlie

I got chastised on another board for killing a big ol' King snake that fell in love with my wife's hot tub. Really didn't want to but he just wouldn't move on. I just replied, "If Mama ain't happy ain't nobody happy!"

I knew it was a good one Charlie ! Every guy in the PGCA has been PM'ing me for a good Snake Gun and that was the only one I had !

I hope they don't get big enough to eat chickens. But hey, u may have an 8 round someres.
