Default Brass sleeved barrels, add screw-ins? Or too soft?

I’ve acquired an old Parker Lifter. Came with 2 barrels serial numbered to the receiver. 1st barrel set is 10g 32”, not sure of chokes, need to measure them. 2nd barrel set is 10g 28” but sleeved with a brass lining to 12g choked C/IC.

Call it blasphemy if you will, but are brass sleeves too soft to even bother Briley or Mike Orlen to add screw-in chokes for me? Or would they be OK as long as you don’t over tighten and strip the threads?

I wouldn't fool with screw-ins. Just shoot it. You just might be surprised at how well it does.

I’ve been shooting low pressure RST loads through it, with no worries or issues. Mitch at Gunsmithing LTD in CT went through it, although he wouldn’t confirm or deny if it is safe or not. But based on our conversation and review I decided to shoot it. Been having fun shooting skeet with it. Also been shooting the 10g barrels with my own loads.

I think we’ve seen that gun on the forum here before, a good number of years ago.

I bought it from a fellow member here about a year ago.

Learn to shoot. Forget the screw ins. Don't destroy your gun.

What a cool parker! I would leave it as is and just spend a few afternoons at the 5 stand with it
