Default Michigan trip

3 of us hunted lower Michigan around Houghton Lake for 5 days. We had 5 Parkers and a sidelock Sauer, 2 12ga, 3 20ga and a 28ga. Weather was great but getting hot toward the end. We had Rays Brittany who was great. We also saw Bob's setter that was being trained by a pro, he's getting the dog in the spring. As for birds we only found 3 grouse all week and about 12 different woodcock. We got 3 woodcock. We did see 4 or 5 grouse on dirt roads that took off as soon as they saw you. We did not run into any young birds all seemed to be mature older birds. Hope you guys did better that went to the UP.
