Default Lefever Video on Youtube

I put together a slide show in video format with a majority of the Lefever pictures I have collected. Each gun is identified as to the serial number gauge and grade. I'll warn you, its an hour long. Enjoy!

Excellent photo journal Bob!

Question: do you know who the engraver was for No's 86026, 17914, 1888, 1830, 20890, 35039 and 73131 ?

The engraving style in the depiction of the dogs' heads, eyes, eyelashes etc. is something I have always associated with the work of Joseph Loy and maybe those guns were done by Loy... I sure think so. Do you know the answer Bob?

Dean, Yes some of that engraving has been ascribed to Joseph Loy. He was at The Ithaca Gun Co. in Ithaca from 1890-95 then with Remington in Ilion from 1895 on. He apparently sub-contracted with the Lefever Arms Co. and The D.M. Lefever, Sons & Co. shops along with his brothers Clarence and Henry. I know he was a personal friend of Frank LeFever who worked alongside him at Remington in the 1930's.

Dr. Bob,
The time and effort you put into this project is not lost on me! It was fun to see many familiar guns. Great job, well done!

Thank you,
