The NID Magnum-Ten was introduced in the second version of Ithaca Gun Co.'s 1932 catalogue --
The text in the catalogue always mistakenly calls the Chas. Askins/Elmer Keith Magnum-Ten a No. 5E when in fact it was in fact a No. 4E -- The fully loaded 16-gauge that Chas. Askins ordered and was later owned by Elmer was a No. 5E -- |

I was home last week for a visit and found this picture. It is from about 30 years ago and as I recall it was a very cold day. The handsome young man on the left is holding that 28" Ithaca mag 10. Patrick |

Ithaca Mag ten
Dave
I do believe, that the other handsome young man is also holding an Ithaca ten. Most likely a super ten. The area is a frozen potato field, temps most likely on the minus side of zero, with a good steady wind. Hunting with them two in mid winter would separate the sissies from the goose hunters. If the cold did not get you, they would stop at a real Mexican cafe where they were the only english speaking customers. Here the hot sauce and the food would finished the job. |

Patrick, David, and Dave Noreen, I wonder when Steve Lamboy will deliver the 28" Super Ten that I ordered as a "dealer"? I guess I shouldn't be too impatient. I did spend the day at the Chantilly, VA gun show staring at a great 34" Mag Ten on the table next to mine. Not a problem except that I have a nice Mag Ten to sell myself. Oh well.

LOTS of interest in the high condition 34" Grade 2 Mag 10 at the show today. Second in potential buyer interest only to the knockout 16 ga. Daniel Frasier Scottish Best. The lovely signed and unmessed-with 1953 Funken engraved Pigeon Grade 12 ga. Browning Superposed (with the large pigeons, thank you!) came in a strong 3rd.
