Many Colt shotguns will letter, but those letters are expensive.

Bill, I saw that last evening. $100.00 for a letter and where it says "stock"in the letter the description was "wood"......

There is a Coltforum.com They were as helpful as they could be when I got my 1883. It seems that there is not alot of information on these guns, not even with a letter that was $150 if you have a graded gun. Their long gun section seems to deal with the AR stuff.

There were no cheap Colt SxS. These were expensive guns and every one I have seen was very nicely made. I recently had a hammer Colt SxS alongside a Parker hammer and they were suprisingly similar in feel.
