Default Greetings from Minnesota

Thanks for letting me join the forum. I don't have any Parkers but just picked up this Remington 1889.

Thanks for the warm welcomes, yes that's me on Castboolits my handle there is pmer. The first cartridge I cast for was 45 Colt and the RCBS 255 semi wad cutter.

I can reload for 10 and 12 gauge with MEC and recently bought a Pacific single stage with 10 gauge dies. I paid a yard sale price for it and cleaned it up. It still needs the tubes for shot and powder.

My skill level for reloading shotgun I'd say is around novice or beginner and stick to published data. I have done some roll crimping and subbed buckshot into birdshot data. Round ball in 12 gauge is pretty fun too.

This Remington 1889 10 ga. is a new chapter and I'm looking forward to having the right ammo for it. So far I've shot 1 3/8 oz 6 shot with 29.0 Longshot in Federal 2 7/8 hulls and 8 ball 00 buck with the same load. The bird shot patterns great and the buckshot was good but not too consistent.

Hi Jim, I'm from Harris, it looks like we're a couple hours apart or so.
There's a big gun shop on the south east corner of Lake Millacs. They have a few Parkers and other old doubles. Do you ever get to Boone's Fine Guns?

You see, I figure if someone else snatches them up I don't have to worry about them!

never been to Boones. A trip to Puglisisin Duluth is great fun. Go into the gun room and take a look at the elephant in full armor. Great fun and great guns
