When we were down at the southern we shot at Drakes Landing and Dan (the owner) also has a English Pointer pup that is deaf that the owner of the kennel wanted to put down. Dan said no and he is training it the same way on a collar with vibration.

I will post pictures and updates from time to time as well as their first wild bird finds. Nothing like a new puppy to remember during the off season why we love our hunting dogs.

Nothing like starting a new pup and watching everything click and kick in. Another memory maker in the works.

You are right. I am also getting a little smarter. I had two pointers when I retired in March 7 years ago. Before bird season I lost both of them.
One was 12 and the other 14. Luckily for my hunting partner he gave me one trained 1 1/2 year old Pointer and I traded him a 20 gauge reproduction for her sister. I now have 4 English pointers with this pup and a ( lab my daughters) Maybe a few more than I need but I sure enjoy them. |
