Default FOX/PARKER CHALLENGE CUP NEWS!!!

Gentlemen, ( and I use that term loosely----even more so than the frame knuckle
on that infernal shooting contraption of yours, we refer to in Philly as:
"Old and Liable"

We are pleased to inform you that the first, OFFICIAL, Fox vs. Parker Challenge Cup
match is a "go" for Fri/Sat, Sept 28th & 29th at Addieville East Farms shooting grounds in Mapleville, RI. We sincerely hope that the move to The Vintage Cup venue will elevate this much anticipated shooting contest, from Major Bowes Amateur Hour to The Tonight Show status. (Or perhaps, more like WIPEOUT, when Team Fox brings their A-game!!)

The Fox vs. Parker Challenge will run as a concurrent to The American Classics Event, a 50 target course offered on the Vintage Cup menu. Vintager's shooting rules will be in effect for this competition. They are posted clearly on your scorecard and on The Vintager's registration form. There will be no charge for shooting in this event other than the standard fee for The American Classics Event ($50??). More specific regulations are noted herein:

1) All participants must bring their official scorecard to the Fox booth, before entering the course. A Fox official will record your name, gauge and grade of gun and blood type ( the latter needed should your shooting require emergency first aid or intubation from the Heimlich maneuver). Although you are free to re-enter The American Classics Event as often as you wish ( at $50 a pop) only one predetermined round will count towards the Challenge. The total, combined top five Parker scores will be compared to the total, combined top five Fox scores to determine the winning team. ( And yes, we will be inspecting all Parker shooting bags for White-Out, correction tape and inordinately large eraser heads)

2) This event will be limited to 12-16 & 20 ga Parker and Fox shotguns only. While we realize your desperation/need to reach for the heavy artillery, please leave those 10-8-4's and punt guns in the trunk!! (Remember....it's not the size of your bore.... )

3) All participants must be members in good standing with their respective organizations ( or worse yet, both organizations---the horror) In other words----No "mercs"!!

4) In the highly unlikely event of a tie, a coin toss will determine the winning team.
A special, commemorative Fox/Parker Challenge coin was minted for the occasion. One side of this coin is a fox, the flip-side, a Jack-As.......make that a donkey.

5) Registration and shooting will be available from 9-5PM on Friday and 9-4PM on Saturday. All score cards must be delivered to the Fox booth by 4:30PM sharp on Saturday!!

6) Losing team and BOD's present, must appear at winning team's booth at 5PM sharp for gala awards ceremony, to include: trophy presentation/champagne toast/photo opp's/special visit from Fausti sisters and the Dunkin' Donuts, ESPN,NESN and W.B.Mason press conferences.

A trophy, befitting of such a momentous sporting contest is being procurred as we speak. Photos to follow later this week.

We hope this will mark the beginning of an exciting new epoch in the vintage shotgun shooting sports and attract some much needed "new blood" into the competitive arena.

16 days and counting, Matrons. Perhaps the fires on Cherry St. will be burning a bit brighter this evening??

As always, with warmest regards and deepest sympathies,
Your comrades in superlative side by sides.....

No offense intended, but you guys are severely handicapped without Mike Campbell. Pray, why has he refused to shoot for your gagglesquad?...oh, nevermind... it just came to me

Default Threat and no threat

Still my favorite photo of "The Fox Enthusiast".
Do you suppose it's a uniform thing?
Wish I could be there. Good luck!

Awwwwww, I love it. Day-2 and the bats are already flying out of the dugout!!

You have misinterpreted PAYDIRT. You see, to be a "FOX-MAN" requires a substantial amount of additional longitude, South of the beltway. The auditors often blush with envy when reviewing our "endowments". And, lest we forget, despite what you
mistake for a wardrobe malfunction........A FOX still GETS the GAME!!!!!!!!!

Au Contraire my misguided "Fox has no game" friend.
It is a generally accepted point of shotgun etiquette to display an open or broken gun
to show others that there is "No Threat".
What our Fox enthusiast is demonstrating north of his border is that he may be a threat (even though accidental in nature i.e. throw up enough lead and you may hit something) while south of his border he is no threat at all.

As far as the auditors, while passing the Fox locker room, I've heard them utter in disgust,
"Stand closer or sit down, you guys are not as big as you think you are".
