Default Playing with a new lens and a DH

Was messing around taking some pictures with my new prime lens the other day and got some interesting pics out of the experience. I have to say the old girl (1899 gun) looks good on my great grandparents old farm kitchen table.

It looks to me that both the D and the lens are keepers.

You should use a tripod and slow the shutter speed down. You will have more of the subject matter in focus by doing so.

The dog on the floor plate is a good touch. I have been thinking about getting an upgraded camera myself. A tripod would help too.

Yeah I didn't quite realize the depth of field was as small as it was until I was looking at them on the computer.
