For those needing checking work done to recut old checkering or checker a new replacement stock you can contact Mr. Richard Harms at +1 (660) 723-3834. Richard is located in Warsaw, Missouri and was formally employed with Fajen Custom Gunstocks before Fajen went out of business. He does really nice work. He has most all of the traditional Parker checking patterns from the Trojan to the AHE models. But, he will also work with you on your own checkering designs. It is best to text him to arrange time for a call. Here are some examples of his work. The first are of a Pedrocelli 10 garage SxS muzzleloader I built a few years ago which he did the Checkering for me. Then next are of old Parker stocks that he re-checkered for customers who were refurbishing their guns. Note the Mullered borders on the Parker Splinters. While he was with Fajen’s he checked several Parker re-stocks that were being custom built and his work included hand crafting the teardrop or Fleur de Lis on upper grade Parker’s side panels.
