Delicious piece of wood on that one Scot. It would certainly make a nice addition to your bride's collection, eh?

Very nice Japanese A1S set with outstanding wood throughout. I would think it was engraved in Japan rather than by Geoffroy Gournet as mentioned in the description. It is my understanding Geoffroy just engraved the Custom order A1Specials.

I tend to agree with Bill on the engraving be nice to hear from Geoffroy himself to confirm this.

I’m pretty sure that’s just the standard Reproduction A1 engraving pattern.

She might have to settle for pics on that one, Greg. Both splinter & BTFE for all barrels is nice.

As nice as the gun is, and it is fabulous, I personally think having the frame case hardened was a bad move. If you look close at the pics you'll see the wood/metal fit in some spots was likely compromised and screw timing needs a little work. The engraving is clearly factory.

Very nice. We're any of the A-1s made with double triggers? Don't think I have ever seen one advertised.

It seems they show up w/2 triggers every now and again but by large, the majority of PR A-1 Specials seem to come equipped with a single trigger. During production, a single trigger was a hundred dollar upgrade to a PR, as was a BTFE.

Scot's correct regarding the SST and BTFE option costs - but that was during the closeout, however; a buyer had a choice of either a SST or DT at no additional cost during the actual production time frame. The BTFE option upcharge during production for an A-1 Special was actually $200 ($150 for DHE and BHE-Grades). I don't recall seeing a published price sheet for what a complete 2nd forend cost.

I cited the numbers from the clearance sale flyer shown in The Parker Story..thanks for the correction, Greg.

Oddly enough, on the very same clearance flyer, a 12ga of any sort commanded a $100.00 up-charge as well.
