I was searching for a retirement present for a good friend who is celebrating his 40th year in his business when I happened across this G at a local show.
My friend is an avid duck hunter and this is a 1 1/2 frame with barrels capable of modern loads.
It is a slightly unusual Parker in that it was reworked by Westley Richards of England. The barrels are Damascus but were sleeved and nitro proofed for the 2 3/4 12 gauge shell. Westley Richards also engraved their name onto both barrels.
To me this is sort of like the best of both Old and New World makers as it is now a 'Westley Parker'.
I have seen several sleeved guns before but usually down a gauge from the original i.e. 12 to 16 or 16 to 20.
Anyway just think it is neat to know it has lived on two continents. The seller kicked in a nice clean canvas and leather box case for the presentation. I'm now working up a custom personalized label for the lid.
