For you 10 gauge Elsie lovers. The top gun is my Grade 3 10 gauge very early Fulton with chain Damascus 30" bbls and the bottom gun is my Pigeon Grade 10 gauge with 30" Nitro barrels---one of 4 10's and the only one made with 30" bbls. They are the pride and joy of my Elsie collection.

By no means are my Smith's replacing my Parker's or english made guns . But since getting that old beat up Smith 10 I've found a whole new respect for the name

And by the way your two look very nice !

ot out to the range this morning about 7:30 and of course I took along my old LC Smith 10 .

I was going to try my buckshot loads at 50 yards . Well I did take one shot with the 000 Buck and put 3 pellets on the paper but low . I suppose I shoulda aimed high !

Anyway after that I tried a load in each barrel with 000 , 00 , 1 , 3 and 4 Buck . Amazingly they all still shoot pretty darned good at 25 yards !

Loaded up 10 rounds with 000 and 10 rounds with #1 buck tonight .

I also moved a stand today on one of our Damage Control Farms . Moved it back into a rather thick funnal the deer use .

If I get my 15 birds quick monday or if they don't fly well I shud be able to get to this stand PDQ and perhaps i can plow a deer with the old LC Smith !

I'm halfway thinking about loading #1 in the right barrel and 000 in the left barrel therefore if a doe or two come by at the same time I can plow one "hopefully" with the #1 load and then hammer one with 000

I use my same old charge of SR7625 30 grains and whatever shot I use is inside a Remington SP-10 wad with NO buffer whatsoever . Lets see I load 8 of the 000 , 12 of the 00 , 16 of #1 , 28 of #3 and 32 of #4 .

I gotta say I've never owned a gun that seemed to be at ease with so many different sizes of buckshot . Grnated I never was much of a buckshot person . And truely I'm still not but I truely enjoy killing deer with these old guns . And quite possibly some other game animals (well atleast with grandads old W&C 10 gauge) .

I would still like to do the round ball thing inside the SP-10 wad in this LC since it's modified in both barrels . My old W&C is way way way to tight to even think I could get a ball that was safe to shoot near decent at 25 yards .Not as sure about the NID but if I get a mold for the LC I'll most likely give it a try in the NID as well !

Might just load up 40-50 loads of 1 1/4 ounce of #8's for the dove opener monday !

Either load a bunch of those or some for my Browning 20 gauge Superpose .
