I would love to go on a old fashioned deer drive down here and do a Parker Pages article on it. They are becoming fewer and fewer though. A local plantation put on a charity drive every year, but then somebody got shot (not fatal) and they discontinued it on liability reasons. It was too bad.

Mills, just finished re-reading Rutledge's book for the third or fourth time. Looked up Hampton plantation on Google earth and found it and that it has been preserved as a park. A friend went to Virginia this year and hunted with a group with a large lease and a good pack. He enjoyed it but technology has changed every thing, think GPS collars on the dogs and reading them from the pick up and using it to get to the stands.

Actually, the house and 300 acres are a state park. The Rutledge family still owns 1,000 or so acres of the property. I think they still use it for hunting
