Sold almost all of my nice ones and am adding those that have been customized and cobbled with. For some reason I have always like the customized ones over original condition..only two really nice one guns left for sale. A Hamilton Bowen custom Redhawk with all the bells and whistles and my Remington 1894 10 gauge CE. Still buying though and want to try a Marlin 90 and a few others on the list...

I have always liked the Marlin 90. I used to shoot trap with a guy who had a nice 90 and I shot my Parker Bros. DH. We always had fun competing with each other. He was pretty good with that nice 90 and I was pretty good with my DH.

Not actively looking to buy, but, if the right double would show up at the right time? Same for a trade or sale, if the right buyer was looking for the right gun.....? I do have a nice Howa 1500 100% camo in .308 Win that I would be willing to move right now. Even have a lot of ammo to go with it and load data for my reloads the gun loves to consume.

I've never shot a Marlin 90, but Ted Janes, a writer for Outdoor Life, shot a 16 bore. His book "A Boy and his Gun" was my bible back in the day. It was a great story about him teaching his young nephew to hunt. The nephew died in WWII. I still read that book from time to time.

It's worth a read Gary. I got my first copy when I was ten years old. I've wanted to hunt as early as I can remember. That book fascinated me and I read it over and over as a kid. I still like to read it again from time to time. It brings back such wonderful memories of the times when I began hunting. The fact that the boy who was written about died in WWII makes it a poignant story. Lot's of good information for someone starting to hunt. I never tire of that old book.
