Update, Chuck called at 8:40. They took him in for surgery at 3:30. He’s up in his room and ate some supper. He’s having ice cream now. 😎 They’ll probably have him up and walking this evening. Doc told him probably 3 weeks until he can really start getting around. He’s definitely feeling his anesthesia. Really fun to talk to him right now.

Just got back home from our Ohio Spring Old Pat’s meetup to find this. Sorry it happened, Chuck, but it sounds like the surgery went well. Good luck with the therapy and recovery.

First, thanks for your prayers and concerns for my health. I'm getting better. Everyone asks me how I fell so here's how it happened. I was making eggs and bacon. I took drink and accessories into the family room, and had to get back to the stove quickly. The family room floor is about 8 to 10 inches below the kitchen floor and the rest of the first floor rooms. I was going too fast and my lead foot didn't clear the kitchen floor riser and down I went! My wife was in the basement directly below me. Said it sounded like a bomb going off. Couldn't get up off the floor so we called the ambulance. They decided to do a partial hip replacement. Pain is much better so far today. In hospital for rehab. Please hold off on the letter requests till I give the all clear.
