I didn't get into CLA before shotguns !

I was already well aware of Parker's , Fox , L.C.Smith , the British guns and some of the ones from the continent by the time I was 10 .

The CLA stuff was more Virginia related . I always liked Al Edge's rendition's of Scheetz rifles as well as Clay Smith's James River Basin rifles . But I did have another made by Blackhart in New England . All nice enough , but based on what one paid and the value after you took ownership . Well lets just say the loss in value was more then I wanted to take . For example if I paid $6500 for a new Edge rifle in the Scheetz style , took it out and fired it maybe a dozen times after I got it and then tried to sell or trade it the value would drop 50-60% .
