The New Years Day Shoot for 2013 is in the record books. Weather was peek a boo sun, cold and breezy making for an occasional low or high flying target. We shot skeet, trap, an elimination and 10ga backing up a smaller bore protection.
The elimination wound up with Bob Fabian and his NH against Glen Watts with a 12ga VH, it seemed like it would never end as both shooters missed a long string of 27 yard targets. Bob finally pointed his 10ga where it belonged and sent Glen to 2nd place (hey it's what short tens do). In the 10ga backup a pair of great Parkers (and a couple of OK guys), John Dunkle shooting his great grandfathers AAHE trap gun and Frank Cronin shooting his 5 frame hammer 10ga with his signature ground shaking black powder 1 1/4 target loads, bested other 8 shooters. Including a pair of cheaters who snuck to the line with both of them having a 10ga. Only a few shooters braved the cold and Scott Kittredge bested Bob Fabian (see cheater in above paragraph) for an overall high gun. Pictures will be added here as I go shortly. |

Frank Cronin's early hammer lifter, 2 barrel set.  John Dunkle's superb AAHE trap gun (which he brought for Dean to shoot).  Robin Lewis' A grade 16ga.  Herb Hewlett's G grade  Gun rack  Gun rack with a very unusual G grade at the end.

While Pete put's up the pics - I just wanted to hop into this thread and send a HUGE THANK YOU to Peter for organizing it - and all who brought food, laughs and great conversation to this New Years Day Parker Shoot... It was simply outstanding...
I'll post more as folks leave themselves open to ridicule..???  HEH!!! Seriously - thank you to all the folks!!! (AND - BTW - in the 10GA Backup event, Peter warned me I'd better hit those 27 YD targets, or I'd suffer Frank touching off that 10 GA next to me... While Frank only had to back-up my misses on occasion - my ears are still ringing..??  )John |

John Dunkle and the Beauty. I hope you like the second picture John, I wish the camera had caught the bird but the cold made it very hard to take pictures with a long delay. Great photo of you and grand dads gun though.
