Me too, Dean. With very mild recoiling guns, like .410s, it doesn't matter to me at all. But, with heavier loads, duck loads especially, I shoot better with a pistol grip. If they were single shots it wouldn't matter at all to me. First shot is fine, but I can get on the bird faster with the second barrel with a pistol grip than I can with a straight grip. I don't have the physique and big hands that Mr. Nash did.

Personally, I prefer a straight grip because I have found I subconsciously change my grip when switching to the back trigger. I also find them more appealing to the eye.

It’s interesting that most British “best” have traditionally been made with straight grips (and long LOP’s).

I like both styles. I also like the ball grip which kind of includes the best qualities of straight and pistol styles
