Very nice Mill's !

I missed out on a VH 10 gauge locally about 18 months ago for $1,800 that was about 90% overall and have kicked myself many many times over that one !

Well i say VH as thats what the broker said it was . I just saw pics as we never were in the same place at the same time . A couple friends that are knowledgable in the ways of Parker's and saw this one said it was correct !

At the time I was looking for a decent shootable one and I "thought" I could find one for less money . Little did I know

A V Grade 10 gauge gun is a rare bird. I think I have only seen 1 or 2. Years ago I had one shipped here for a friend. The gun was bought from Elmira Arms. Great guns....

I think it was said on this forum: Just be patient and the Parker you are looking for will come available eventually.

Very true !

But once I get a 10 I'll want an 8 and if and when one of those becomes available that may be a "to expensive" undertaking !

I was going to add you can buy all the Parkers that look interesting while you wait on the one you are looking for. I want an 8 gauge eventually too.

While that doesn't sound like bad advice , I'd never be able to afford what I actually wanted if I bought all that intrested me

That is just part of the challenge.

Oh no this is just the tip of the iceberg

When you take into consideration I'm pretty open to most any decent SxS as well as a couple different brands of O/U's . Then my "stupid" obsession with Marlin lever actions , Ruger #1's , variouse bolt actions and then there's all the bullet molds
Period flintlock and percussion weapons also empty my pockets on a fairly regular basis
Just glad I finally got over the "Contemporary Flintlock Longrifles" what I had in a couple of those a year or two ago and I could've purchased a nice 8 gauge Parker hammerless !

It's a never ending cycle

Craig,

Interesting, before discovering Parker Bros. shotguns I too accumulated a few "Contemporary Flintlock Longrifles", but before the CLA came into being. Two by Haugh, two by H. House and one each by Bivins, Ehinger, Brennan, Dawson and Viens. Still have, shoot and enjoy them all. If I may ask, whose work did you collect?
