Yes, I was thinking the same thing. You know you can shoot any gauge you want in the qualifying round. I shot my 10 gauge this year and it was a charge

Nothing if you’re old retired and not have other things to do . But when you’re the only one looking after old retired sick relatives it’s a bit difficult sometimes .

We can only hope. I’d run out of money though and the War Department would put me in the doghouse

And thanks to everyone for making my son feel so welcome this year. It worked and he says he wants to come back next year

There are a couple guys in Manikin Sabot that might help you out !

It was my understanding one of them was in Italy and the other we'll just call Mr. Model 21

You know all jokes aside , if I had the freedom to come and go like I did 25 years ago doing the Spring and the Fall shoots would be no hinderance compared to then , this is only twice a year and maybe $1500 each time . When I was trying to be on the competitive trail it was $300-500 a weekend 3 or 4 times each month in the spring summer and early fall .

I will post a summary of the Parker/Smith events later this week and will also do my best to provide Mr Romig with a write up for one of the upcoming Parker Pages as well as for the LC Smith journal.

The 16 ga and 20 ga events on Thursday seemed to be well attended and everyone seemed to have enjoyed them.

Many folks have been asking for a 10 ga Parker/Smith event. Given that Thursday is occupied by the 16 and 20 ga events our only other option is to host a 10 ga event on Wed.
Rick Hemingway sets up and is ready to go by noon on wed and in the past 3 or 4 years several of us have gathered to shoot on those Wed starting around noon or 1pm. In response to the request for a 10 ga event, Rick has offered to set up a five stand for such an event. I am happy to again sponsor the trophies and help Rick and such get this organized and going.

So we are a few days short of a full year, so giving everyone ample notification we are having a Parker/Smith 10 ga event the Wed of the Southern at the dove field/ five stand #1 (the larger five stand). The other will be open for practice. Details to come in the future but basically the format will be the same as the 16 and 20 ga Parker/Smith five stand events.
I will say for the 10 ga event it will be open to both Parker and LC Smith 10ga and 8 ga hammer and hammerless guns.

Thanks John for your sponsorship of the 16/20 event. It was great and I look forward to the 10 gauge event next year.
