I really need to get to the Remington Museum in Illion. I live only a few hours away from it. Just keep forgetting to when I am passing through that way.

I think I remember TPS stating that Remington had one in the Museum, but there is little evidence that many were made in regular production or ordered.

In regards to Jeff's Custom Trojan, that piece of hardware on the evterior of the forend is most likely just a imbedded fitting for the front screw to thread into. Much like alot of belgian guns have. This would add additional safety from the front screw pulling out of the wood when putting the forend on and off.
