Bruce, my sympathies go out to you and your family. It sounds as if your dad was a wonderful person who lived a good life and was loved and respected by many. You can't ask for more than that.

Bruce, I hope the comfort you got from having your dad with you for such a long life gives you some joy, and helps to temper the sadness of loosing him. I lost my dad when I was much younger than you, and the lessons I learned from him are put to use daily. My deepest sympathies to you.

Both Bernadette and I send our condolences on the loss of your father. You and your family are in our prayers and thoughts. Our thoughts will be with you at Leavenworth next week.
I saw Saipan. My father flew off Tinian. We just got back Monday from a WW2 reunion of his group (6th Bomb (VH)) in Milwaukee. There were 14 of the old guys there. Very, very fragile but still keenly ready. It truly was the Greatest Generation. Jeff and Bernadette |

Bruce, I've walked the invasion beaches on Saipan and stood inside the many Japanese pill boxes that remain to this day. I can appreciate what your father went through. May he rest in peace.
