Nice Remington Parker DHE. I believe the engraving was done by Bob Runge.
It appears the stock and forend were done in Meriden by Parker Bros. Employees as the drop points and checkering are of that style, most likely done just before the move to Illion. I wonder if it was Remington’s decision or that of the engraver to sidestep the traditional Parker Bros. positioning of the pointer on the left and the setter on the right side of the frame by reversing the position of the dogs. I wonder what might be the first serial number Parker to display this new trend in engraving ‘style’? .
