Dave Lein's gun looks like it is #2581. The receiver and barrel of my Griebel engraved Model 32 don't match either. Some Remington Model 32 owners have successfully added Krieghoff barrels but I don't know what modifications, if any, have to be done to make that work. I have never tried to put a set of K32 or K80 barrels on a Remington 32, but I may give it a shot.

Hardly a tank, more like a frail old lady! I bought an early first year production one 10 years ago and, after about 10K rounds, it had all the classic failures: battered breach face, cracked ejector hooks, bent forend metal and cracked wood and others I don't remember. Paid $1200 for the gun, paid Pat Laib $1700 to make it right.

Back in the day I had bit of a cottage industry of picking up early Model 3200s. Every time I went to the races at Watkins Glen, I'd swing by Ilion the Monday after and drop one off. Six weeks later they'd be back with all the updates, and at least once with new forearm wood. All gratis.
I bought a new 1977 Model 3200 Skeet with Skeetmaster tubes and shot NSSA registered skeet with it for 11 years some with as many as 3500 registered targets. A lot more practice targets. In 2015 when I was driving cross country to the shoot at Hausemann's I dropped it off at Laib's and had them do anything non-cosmetic they thought it needed. I was in Iowa on my way back west when they called and said it was ready, so didn't even need to have it shipped. Total bill $406. |

I have 3 -skeet, trap and field. All updated. No problems. The field, commissioned by my dad, has 1/4" cast on, and for some reason I shoot that gun as well as any I own

I too, shot competitive NSSA skeet and International skeet with two 3200s for many years. I never had any problems, both guns were updated when manufactured. I would not buy a 3200 today that is not updated. Laib's work is not cheap and Remington doesn't do it any more. By the way, John, 28" and 30" 3200s were equipped with barrels of those lengths. The 26" 3200s had 25 1/2" barrels. I was always a mediocre shot, but attended two World Shoots in Savannah with my Kolar tubed 3200, never missed a 20 gauge bird. However, that is probably my only claim to fame in NSSA skeet.
