Mules will do anything you ask if they are convinced you both will enjoy it. We had them to do the work on the farm before we got a tractor in the early 50's. One thing to keep in mind is that a Mule will give you 20 years of faithful service to have the opportunity to kick you once.

Look for a mule bred out of a pony mare. I had one and she could pull like, well, a mule. I made a single tree for her out of hickory and equipped it with what I thought was rather stout hardware. The first log I hitched her to she straightened out the rings. Had to rethink the hardware a bit. She also had the sweetest disposition.
