Either way it is turning out as a cool gun either a heavy 10 gauge or an 8 gauge.

Good luck Charlie ! I've got my fingers crossed for you.
You will have to do a side by side photo of the new gun and the little 20 gauge you bought from me. Kind regard, Jeff

well i picked the gun up this evening..it is a 10 ga with 30 inch barrels it is hammerless and has a fishtail opening lever..the grade is n the serial no is69388 the frame is a 3 definaly the barrels are marked 7 lbs 10 ounce..i weighed the gun it weighs 11 lbs 8 ounces.. well the gun shoots but comes unbreached when fired..it is off faceabout 6 thousands i put a piece of paper in the roll pin it tightened it up..i lubed up the part that catches the barrelsand locks gun up now the gun will not fasten shut at all..the trigger guard screw that goes up to the tang is stripped..the gun is gona need some help for sure..and the bottom floor plate has been peened on with a hammer...other than that shes all there i bet the ole gal has killed her share of ducks... any body got any idea s on on makeing the barrel catch work again..also the left barrel is real hair trigger and will fire even with safety on..but the right barrel functions ok...even with all these issues i m pround i found this old gun...well she aint a 8 but she is a pretty heavy ten ..i bet the end of the barrels are 80 thosents thick...barrells have the little mark at the end of barrels so do not appear to have ever been cut..will take pictures soon i sure wanted to take this jewel turkey hunting this saturday but shes gona need a lot of work before she gets to go...charlie

Charlie, I'm disappointed to hear of the short comings of this gun, but it is all fixable.
I'm glad you're happy, and if you were able to make your old 8 ga shootable, then this one should be a piece of cake! Post pictures! David |

Charlie: I didn't see your post till now so sorry I didn't answer earlier. I do have a 9.7 pound barrel on my 34 inch 10 ga. It sounds like you got another Turkey killer. Thomas

Sounds like a great project Charlie. I like project guns a lot myself but I think I already have enough for the next 20 years.
