Glad you asked Russ...

When we first began to see bumper stickers and window stickers back in the '70's of such things as "I *heart* My Labrador Retriever" or "I *heart* My Grandkids" or "I *heart* My Volvo" and so on and so on... we thought they were clever and novel but soon got sick of seeing them. Littel did we know that Parker (under ownership of Remington) actually started that fad with that little heart which, of course meant, "I Love My Parker".

Nice gun Russ and congrats on finding it. Seems some 16's are coming to light these days. I'm going to debut a transition DHE 16 at the Southern this weekend. I think it's choked M/F, the clays will tell me.

Thank you Rich ,We all know a lot of the fun is in the Hunt ,I really get a kick out of locating a Parker ,This particular gun was found by a phone call from a friend who said his Father went to preview an antique auction and said ,Man you ought to see the gun there ,some kind of highly engraved Parker ! It was the only gun there ! It was about 60 Miles from me ,but I made a Bee Line the day before to the preview and decided to go on Saturday to the auction and see what happened ,I am glad I did ! Now ,how about a few pictures of the transition gun ,I would like to take a look at her and I am going to miss the Southern !

Anyone looking for Quail might try Kansas.....we got into several covies this past november....It was so mutch fun....I remember the wild quail in ohio about 1963 we had several large covies that lived in a huge field across the street from my house. The problem, I only could carry a sling shot...I was 8.....But I remember them. They were all gone by the time I got my first SXS 12ga. from my dad at 13. The hi brass hunting ammo was so charished and never wasted! I think I still have some of that ammo! Thanks all SXS ohio....(-:

Kenny ,Thanks for the advice , My dad tells of the Deep Freeze here in the early Forties which did our Quail in ! Seems my Grand Dad had a small Farm here in SW Pa. where a few nice Coveys lived ,as my Grand Dad called them I am told " My Coveys " which he watched very closely I've been told ! The story is a Deep snow came and then melted a little and then the Deep Freeze that lasted for a long period of time ,the next Spring ,there were no Quail to be found ,so you can imagine my suprise about eight years ago or so when Maggie Set Point at the end of a ravine that dropped out of a Crab Apple patch at the edge of the lower Field ,I went in to Flush expecting Mr. Ruff and jumped a Covey of about Forty Quail ,Well the Good Lord was smiling on me that day ,the first Covey rise I had ever seen and managed to scratch down Two for an honest Double ," Two Dead in the Air " with my 16 Ga. Trojan and some good Spreader Loads ! Hence my Doubles Pin from the PGCA ! Russ

Here's an inset of Russ's pic showing the stamping. Thank you Russ.

Frank, the meaning of the heart stamp, along with several other Remington stamps such as the sunburst stamp have yet to be uncovered, to the best of my knowledge.
It’s too bad that so much of the Remington Parker information has been lost to time. Remington just didn’t seem to think any of it would ever be of interest… shame on them for not having the vision to record ALL of it.

But in Remington’s defense, there was a war going on and so went their focus.
