Regarding these brutal beatings in the last few weeks if they were my father, brother, child or any close relative I would like the option of taking a Louisville slugger and personally give them a wood shampoo instead of watching the state diddle around for 15-20 years incarcerating them and giving them 3 squares, cable tv and an exercise room. Now that would be justice in my world and quite satisfying I may add. I guess that's the Italian in me talking.

I only have two Louisville Sluggers in my collection. One is a 34 that I used all the way through my boyhood baseball career. It was a little big for me when my Dad first bought it for me about 1953 or 1954, but I choked up and grew into it just fine. It developed a bit of a rattle in it a few years into its use, but I haven't been able to feel the rattle for years. When I first felt the rattle, I tried to test it for awhile, but was never able to break it. It is a very unusual bat with a very thin grip area. My second Slugger is a 33 that I used in First Army competition. I guess it really didn't belong to me, but I developed an attachment to it and took it home after the 1969 season. It has no US markings on it, so I guess it is not a collectors item.

I thought my small Slugger collection and my short Army baseball career would get more attention. Oh, well.

I liked it Bill, baseball has become a hot topic in our house with the boys playing T-ball and the Red Socks winning the World Series again. The win came a good time to motivate my boys.
On the original topic, I have a funny sign my friend made me that says "Due to the high price of ammo, no warning shots will be fired". |
