This union sounds like a "Rich guy, poor guy" thing, that is until you have handled an SO series Beretta. I guess a Holland and Holland under over is more gun, but not by much.

I have an old SO4, I believe 1978, with Brileys. It’s the best gun, with the best trigger, I’ve owned for clays. In my view, Beretta premium guns compare well against any maker. Hopefully, it will be a successful pairing. Two fantastic companies making outstanding shotguns.

I've just received word that another BIG name in British gunmaking is up for sale: W.W. Greener!

At this rate, the English gun trade won't be English much longer!

Oh my. Perhaps I need to buy a gun company, rather than a gun

My impression is that Greener is a big name and small company. How many guns do they produce in a year?

Greener is a small "boutique" maker. They have been making new guns with Damascus barrels and in smaller gauges. However, I doubt many of the high end companies make many guns per year. I stopped by Dickson and WR in 2018. I think Dickson was making 4 guns a year (this may have changed with the new owner) and WR might have been making at most 20 guns a year.

Default Beretta and H. & H.

You know Beretta hasn't ruined any of these companies that has been published about. From the outside it looks like they let these companies continue with their successful approach. My thought is this will be a good thing.

Brands;

Benelli, Franchi, A. Uberti, Stoeger, Sako, Tikka, Victrix Armaments, Chapuis Armes, Steiner and Burris.
