Parker Pages
Dean always appreciate your hard work on this time consuming task of bringing all the pieces together. Really looking forward and will be patient as Tx seems to have a slow mule delivering the gift. I have on my desk an article ready to proof along with pics on my last Dec New Mex quail hunt. It has a humorous twist at the end I think readers will like. Also getting ready in 2 weeks for my first Turkey hunt with my Grandson who was featured in the American Heritage article I did several issues ago. He turns 15 and boy do all my guns now fit him. I will do an article on our turkey hunt which should be fantastic. We will be joined by Mark Ray another Parker fan and by the time we are finished his blood will run blue like the bluing on the Parker barrels!! I just took him to the Backwoods Quail Club in SC where he had a great time shooting through all the pine trees. I will combine the turkey hunt and quail hunts together. Thanks always for your great work.

Dean,
Congratulations to you and all the contributors for an outstanding issue of PP. There is something for everyone. The quality of content has never been higher, IMHO. Question.......I know it's probably been discussed before but what would it take to go to 100% color for our publication? We are close now but I'm just asking. Regards, Charles |

Thanks for the kind words Charles. It is certainly a group effort and again, we must share credit with our layout artist at the publisher - Brandon makes our magazine really sparkle!!
Going full color would be wonderful and would alleviate a lot of my anxiety in where to place articles containing color pictures... but it is not to be. We could never afford to have a full-color magazine. As it is, the production of a full year of four issues of Parker Pages currently costs us almost $29,000.00. Not including the front and back covers, which are full-color, we currently run fourteen color pages. To double that to twenty-eight pages it would cost an additional $4,000.00 per issue (X 4). That would bring the cost of production to well above the $40 annual membership, plus some. So, you see, the numbers just aren't there. I don't think anyone wants to see annual membership go up to $50 or more just to have more color pages in our fabulous "journal." .

Dean,
Thanks for the explanation on the color usage for PP. Being in the industry, I knew it was probably a money thing (always is) but I didn't know the particulars. Our "journal" is still the best in class compared to everything out there by far. Regards, Charles |
