How about the wood on this 2-pc. cleaning rod? Curly maple stained golden oak and finished with tung oil.

Recently a PGCA member friend put his talents to work and then sent the brass ferrules he made to me el gratis -- thank you little buddy! Another local friend and I turned the rod on his lathe. The cleaning rod now resides in my 28 ga. Po' Man's Parker 2-bbl. set case.

Easily cracking my Top 10 List of All-Time Favorite Parker Reproduction Wood adorns this unfired Sporting Clays Classic currently listed for sale on GI. This example showcases outstanding color and the wonderful well-balanced side-to-side figure of quarter-sawn Claro walnut. Quality and appearance of wood will mean different things to each individual, but the attributes of this gun pushes this wood to near the top of my personal faves. I thought I'd better add these pics to this little library of Repro wood before some collector snaps it up and squirrels it away.

IMO, this is some juicy wood!

Definitely not an ugly piece of wood.

I just finished reading the entire thread, going back more than ten years as I recall. Wow, what great guns. I have three Repros, have studied them from the beginning, but have always coveted English Walnut, Juglans Regia, so my guns do not qualify for display on this thread. Reading this thread has convinced me that I should be adding to my collection of Repros. OK, maybe I will. However, right now my project is putting together three consecutive numbered 28 gauge, double trigger, splinter forearm, 28" guns. It's only money and what a set that will make.
