Yours has a wonderful, well-figured and eye-appealing dark stock, John. It appears to be a 20/16 3-bbl. set, or is it a 28/.410 tri-bbl. set? We don't often see such sets, please show and tell us more about your little jewel!

It’s a 12 ga.with Q1/Q2, IC/M, and F/F but one of the barrels was opened to Improved Modified by the man I got it from. He said the wood on this one is nicer than his 12 ga. B Grade gun. The man I got it from used to have a gun dealer license and bought it new from Jack Skuese. The past few years I had joint issues so haven’t been able to hunt. I hope to get it out this year as my new hip seems to be holding up.

We see very, very few same gauge 3-bbl. sets. I would bet the number that I've seen could be counted on one hand. Yours John, is certainly a very scarce gun, thanks for showing it to us.

28 Repro wood and metal
Just received my 28 back from having the wood and metal redone. This Repro had been “well loved” by the previous owner(s). Not that it was abused (such as you might see with most hunting guide gun’s that are stored behind the seat of their pick-up truck) but it clearly had spent much time afield as there were lots of scratches and dings mostly on the stock with some on the forend too. The metal was completely worn of any finish and had a shiny chrome look to it. Surprisingly the barrels were in great shape with hardly a blemish. The original case was also well worn (a string holds one end of the leather handle to the case.)
The first time I hunted her I fell in love after my first shot took a woodcock trying to escape between the crotch of two branches in an old apple tree. So I sent her to a shop in NY for the wood and he sent the metal to another shop. Here are some photos I took upon her return. I am not a very good photographer and like an idiot I did not take any “before” photos. Certainly welcome your feedback- good and bad. The work was done according to my request which does not follow the traditional look of the repros. Hope that doesn’t upset any of our dedicated collectors. |

Chris - what are the chokes on that little beauty?
It looks just like my wife Kathy's Repro 28 gauge Skeet gun with Q1 & Q2 chokes.. .
