Just sharing my thoughts and experience, call it what you will. Long waits are one thing, defective products that cost A LOT of money are another. Sorry if that's whining.

I ordered a set of the 16 gauge barrels for my 20 gauge reproduction and had them fit. The turn around time was only two days, Lou shot the gun and liked it. I was quite pleased.

I had a rib seperate on my RBL-12. Adam of CSMC had it repaired in less than 2 weeks. When I received it I noticed the gun had the addition of an Assisted Opener, no charge of course! You won't find me saying anything wrong about CSMC service!

I don't want to whine so let me just solicit objective opinions. Here's my 0 frame Repro with the 16ga barrels I paid to have fitted. The action here was pushed together as hard as I could without being ridiculously rough. The only ways to get the lever to move over and close the gun 1) slam it shut or 2) jiggle and monkey with it until it grinds into place. When I called to complain I was told "don't send it back, we did the best we could, that's how they fit... don't worry, it will wear in." If people think I'm off base I'd like to know... I swore I wouldn't bring this up again but it frosts me so much I had to.

Dave,
There is no excuse for a gun to leave there shop in that condition. I personally have had very good dealings with CSMC so I am very surprised to see that photo. I would send that photo to Lou or better yet to Tony and ask if that is really the best that they can do.

Dave,

I agree with what Larry Frey said. I have had very good service form Lou on a variety of different things. Nevertheless I am glad my barrels did not look like that when "fitted".

Maybe you talked to the wrong person on the wrong day. I know those barrels were not inexpensive; I think you should try again and send the photo; maybe they won't be perfect but it seems clear they can be improved. Based on my experience I can't believe they won't make things better.

As to turn around time this is the worst time of the year with all the rush orders at the holidays so if they offer to help I think if it were me I would send them after the holidays. Another choice, which is not as good, is for you to bring a hammer and file to the RGS hunt next fall and we can meet and you and I can try and fix them.
