Colt is now located in West Hartford, and I'm not entirely sure, but don't think they do anything at the old Colt plant in Hartford. The Big Blue dome is still atop the building, and the prancing horse is back up there, but, sadly, I think the heart of the company has moved on. |

Ah yes..The blue onion dome and the rampant colt. I love that old building. I convinced I was born 100 years too late.

Colt in Hartford is nothing but a highly valuable trade name.
What is under the Blue Onion Dome ( a gift from a Tsar I believe) has nothing to do with guns. The original Rampant Colt was sold to a speculator group, but may have been bought back by the state and is now in the CT Museum in the Supreme Court building. That museum is worth a trip, in my opinion. |

At one point Larry Wilson claimed to own the original Colt, but I believe it came back to the state. More than I can say for some of the fine Colts that he 'borrowed' from the state library.
